How do you intend to use the four areas of the media theoretical framework to communicate meaning and meet the requirements of your chosen brief? (approx. 400 words)
Brief chosen: magazine
Product 1 - For my magazine front/content pages I will use media language to create a modern and unique brand, that represent young people. Also a place that they can express and relief themselves in the form of fashion. I also create a brand that everyone in the community can be interested in and have specific section where everyone can relate and bond the community. The image in the front cover will represent the individual and their story. The masthead will be big and bold so that people can recognise the brand and will associate it to the luxury and multiculturalism of the brand. The main image will include two young females but it will continuously rotate throughout the upcoming months by gender and age. These females will be public figures and people that are already known throughout the community, they will be hardworking and aspiring young women. The cover lines will relate to articles about that are relevant to the ongoing surroundings or relevant to the main front cover model and their story.
The contents pages will include typical and basic features such as health, travel, beauty and lifestyle and also a link to the front cover and about the article.
Product 2 - For the working website of my magazine, I must first make sure that I follow the required media language codes and appropriate conventions of website design. These include the original and unique title and logo of my magazine and a menu bar that links to other pages of the magazine. The menu bar will be located at the top of the website, underneath the title and will have links to 'News,' 'Fashion,' 'New Season', 'About Us’ and ‘More’. I will also have the brands social media embedded into my website, this is a excellent way to get feedback and interact with the audience. You can also use social media to give the latest updates and release dates. When it comes to the visual element , I will try make it suitable to the audience and try and grab the readers attention with a more bright and visual colours, I want prominent colours such as black to stand out and link back to the title but I wont make it too dull. Also I want my website promote and encourage diversity and equality and its not leaning towards no race - on the monthly updates it will include different types of models.
How do you intend to link your media products to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the digitally convergent nature of your media production? (approx. 100 words)
My media product will have consistent and noticeable image across all platforms, the branding will allow us to recognise that the magazine and website is all under one brand and have the same target audience. The same models might also been used which who will be eventually be associated with the brand, also the logo that is in the front cover/ contents page will be the same. I will also use the same front in some aspects of the brand for example the title will always be the same font to create familiarity, in addition my products will also be linked.
Evandro you make some interesting comments about your magazine and website. You could be more precise in identifying the intent of your magazine. Why is it called 'Space'? The title is a representation an idea that is part of the way you target your audience. Be specific in identifying framing, mise en scene etc in creating your cover representation. Questions you don't address are your target audience and the institution that will publish your product and why? Perhaps Space could also relate to design and the convergence of this in relation to your magazine and the website.
